Mark Kubow
In 2008 Mr. Kubow founded Imperium Capital, an asset management and investment advisory firm that works with capital providers on acquisitions in the energy industry. Imperium Capital has been retained by Madison Dearborn to source transactions and provide management for power generation and utility related acquisition opportunities.
Mr. Kubow has been working in the power and utility space since the early 1990s. After providing strategy and M&A advisory services to utility, IPP, and financial clients Mr. Kubow transitioned into a principal role and created a North American power business for BG Group, which included the acquisition of Dighton from Calpine as well as Lake Road and Masspower from separate financial holders. Subsequent to that Mr. Kubow took on a similar role as President of EnergyCo, a JV between PNM Resources and Cascade (the fund management firm for Bill Gates), which included the acquisition of the Cogen Lyondell facility from Dynegy and the co-development of Cedar Bayou IV with NRG.
David Dunbar
David Dunbar has over 30 years in the electric utility industry. While with Mirant Corporation, he held the position of President and CEO of Grand Bahama Power Company, Ltd., VP – Business Development and Operations, Caribbean and Director of Consulting Services. Mr. Dunbar was on the Boards of Directors of Jamaica Public Service Company, Aqualectra; the electricity and water company of Curacao, Curacao Utility Company, a cogeneration facility located within the 280,000 barrel per day ISLA refinery, and Grand Bahama Power Company.
Mr. Dunbar has developed a multitude of power projects including coal, coal gasification, cogeneration and waste-fuel projects in southeast U.S. Before joining Mirant, Mr. Dunbar was Director of Engineering for a waste-to energy plant construction company and Project Manager for Babcock & Wilcox steam boiler company.
Dennis Corn
Mr. Corn brings over 30 years of experience in the electric utility, independent power and industrial chemical industries. Prior to joining Imperium Capital, Mr. Corn directed activities for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 utilities, independents and international companies such as Rentech, Calpine, Eastman Chemical, Air Liquide, FPL Energy, Florida Power & Light and Georgia Power. Mr. Corn has presided over the successful development of over 3,300 MWs of independent power projects with combined construction budgets of over a billion dollars. His experience includes developing international and domestic renewable energy, cogeneration and merchant power projects. Mr. Corn has been the lead negotiator for multinational joint ventures, power purchase, fuel supply/transportation, EPC, financing term arrangements and other project related agreements. His roles in the past have also included due diligence, purchase and sale negotiations, market assessments, market-to-market analysis, strategic planning and project evaluation and analysis. Mr. Corn has a BS in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Jennifer Mesirow
Jennifer Mesirow has over 20 years of advanced experience in the utility and IPP space. Most recently, Jennifer assisted utility companies with power plant acquisitions and structured gas and power transactions including contract renegotiations. Prior to that Jennifer was Vice President of Structured Transactions with National Energy & Gas Transmission (NEGT), an unregulated subsidiary of Pacific Gas and Electric. In that role, Jennifer was primarily responsible for energy industry analysis, valuation and deal structuring across a range of energy products including gas transport and storage, coal processing, power plant tolling, plant development and power plant and trading company acquisitions.
Henry Coolidge
Henry Coolidge has over 25 years experience in the global energy industry including power, gas and oil. While with BG Group of the UK he held the positions of CEO of Premier Power Limited, Director of Seabank Power Limited, Vice President of Project Development for BG Tunisia and Global Head of Power. Before joining BG, Mr. Coolidge was with Southern Company/Mirant Corporation and held positions including Managing Director Mirant China, CEO Southern Energy New England and General Manager of the Power Generation Company of Trinidad and Tobago. Mr. Coolidge’s experience includes reforming struggling businesses and developing growth opportunities.
